Tout a commencé quand j'ai découvert le mugshot authentique de steve Mcqueen, faisant le fanfaron avec un œil au beurre noir. J’ai imaginé la soirée qu’il a passé et ce qui l’a conduit à finir au poste de Police. Toute l’histoire m’a paru si intéressante et cocasse et j’ai imaginé mes propres petites histoires. Daniel Craig faisant la rencontre de Steve Mcqueen et se battant avec lui dans un bar. Ou Batman se faisant arrêter pour non port du casque à moto. Le décalage entre la star et la situation grotesque m’a inspiré pour une délicieuse série de mugshots de personnages que nous adorons. C'est aussi une façon de célébrer la culture pop avec des stars de notre époque.

Christophe Stephan Durand is a contemporary French painter. When he came upon Steve Mcqueen's real-life mugshot, strutting with a black eye, the Mugshot series was born. He therefore created his own small tales. Steven McQueen and Daniel Craig engage in a fight in a bar. Or Batman being arrested for not wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle. He created a delightful series of mugshots as a result of the star's disconnection from the horrifying circumstance and as a way to honor contemporary pop culture with famous people.
On the other hand, the Childhood series retraces the artist's turbulent and magical childhood. It describes extremely moving scenes as experienced through a child's eyes. Some are happy, others melancholic, mystical or full of love.
