Christophe Galinier, also known as Chris, is a passionate photographer who has been practicing his art for over ten years. He has made street photography, landscapes and animals his main form of artistic expression.
Originally from the South-East of France, Chris has taken up residence in Menton, a charming little town where he finds the inspiration and well-being necessary to nourish his photographic creativity. His passion for street photography leads him to capture daily life and document the different cultures he encounters during his travels. He considers his work as a way of bearing witness to our way of living for future generations.
In addition to his street photography, Chris also explores a more personal artistic area, which he has named "The Guardians". This series highlights rock formations eroded by natural elements, creating figures reminiscent of gargoyles and other fantastical creatures. This series originated in Lanzarote, where lava cooled by seawater and erosion gave rise to astonishing formations which he named "The Guardians of Lanzarote". He also continued this artistic exploration near Cap-Martin, France, where the rock sculpted by the wind and the sea gave birth to a similar series, entitled "Les Gardiens de la Pointe du Cap-Martin".
