Christian Choquet is a contemporary French artist whose primary focus is the pursuit of harmony and beauty through painting and sculpture. Graduating from the National School of Fine Arts in Bourges, Choquet initially ventured into advertising. However, in 1992, he returned to his true passion: painting and sculpture.
Choquet's artistic journey is driven by the obsession to create objects with new forms, always in a relentless search for aesthetics and harmony. In his sculptures, especially of women, he aims to capture their beauty and sensuality, emphasizing these qualities to the eye and touch. To him, the woman embodies these characteristics perfectly.
In addition to his sculptures of women, Choquet has a deep fascination with creating busts of people—men, women, and children. He takes particular delight in capturing facial expressions that reflect the subject's personality, whether it be through a smile or a glance.
Choquet has also made a significant mark in Europe with his large-scale sculptures for the livestock farming industry. Notably, he created a 5-meter-long iron bull for a Rond Point in the town of Charolles, showcasing his versatility and broad appeal as an artist.
