Cycle : rencontre, séparation, retrouvailles.
Naissance, mort, énergie de la vie.
Fermer les yeux. Ouvrir les yeux. Recommencer.

Visual artist, Alexia Traore draws from the body, its history and its environment the materials and modes of expression of her research. Installations, photographs, videos, sculptures...Her visual works explore movement, intimate and collective memory, and the complexity of female experience. She is also a dancer and choreographer.

Alexia Traore's art questions the construction of human identity in a corporeal and plastic polyphony. His choreographic and visual creations implement a contemporary rereading of traditional aesthetics. His creative process, in deep connection with Sufi spirituality, evokes the mystical ceremonies of whirling dervishes, and the gyrating movement of the universe. “My body remembers. His memory resonates with this music, these voices…”
