在他的工作台上我们看到，彩岩沙原料有的略粗有的极其细腻，一张2米长条桌上被30余种色彩艳丽的彩岩铺得满满当当。

“金丝彩岩是以天然彩色岩石和贵金属丝为原料，用金属丝在画板上掐出线条，然后用天然彩色岩石作为原料，用吸管作为画笔，运用各种绘画技巧在画板上绘制出各种美丽的作品。在填色过程中，要求手眼并用，对制作者手法要求很高，同时也极具观赏性”。

施常华边说边手拿喷壶，在画上喷了下，用吸管填色给记者演示起来。
