Ich wurde im März 1955 in Kaiserslautern geboren. Die Malerei war von Anfang an meine Berufung.
Ich begann im Alter von 11 Jahren, norddeutsche Landschaften in Öl zu malen. Es kam wohl daher, dass meine Vorfahren, väterlicherseits aus Norddeutschland (Hamburg und Lübeck) stammten. Es zieht mich auch heute noch, immer wieder in den Norden. Diese Landschaft fasziniert mich sehr.
Nach der Ausbildung an der Meisterschule in Kaiserslautern arbeitete ich zunächst als Dekorations- und Schriftenmaler, anschließend als Werbegraphiker,- überwiegend für die Pirmasenser Schuhindustrie.
Studien in Frankreich und verschiedene Kontakte zu dort ansässigen Künstlern erweiterten mein Schaffen, gaben mir Inspirationen. Meine Arbeiten bestanden zum großen Teil darin Landschaften und Stillleben zu malen. Mich faszinierten schon immer reale Darstellungen von Landschaften, darum sollte es auch der Mittelpunkt meines Schaffens sein. Vor einigen Jahren erweiterte ich meine Techniken in Richtung abstrakte Malerei, auch die POP - Art habe ich wieder entdeckt.
