Giuseppe Fortunato nasce a Notaresco (Te) il 5 Novembre 1956. La sua esperienza artistica si sviluppa sin da giovanissimo: espone nella sua prima personale all’età di soli 27 anni; è noto dagli anni Ottanta per la partecipazione alle più importanti mostre d’arte nel territorio nazionale ed anche oltre confine. La sua produzione artistica è sicuramente contaminata nei primi tempi dalla pittura metafisica e successivamente da elementi del surrealismo; negli Ottanta una tappa importante della sua crescita deriva dall’incontro e la frequentazione con il Maestro della nuova figurazione italiana Remo Brindisi dal quale percepirà quella linfa artistica che sarà da impulso incessante, pur non seguendone gli stilemi pittorici. Sul finire degli ’80 darà vita insieme ad altri artisti abruzzesi al movimento Images.
