Small Breakfast 2 (2022) 绘画 由 Zakhar Shevchuk

Shevchuk's composition is both minimalistic and rich in detail. The banana, with its speckled yellow peel, is set against a divided background of light and dark. This contrast emphasizes the fruit's natural texture and the play of light across its surface. The artist's careful brushwork and subtle use of color create a tranquil atmosphere, inviting viewers to find beauty in the mundane.
Inspired by the ordinary moments of daily life, Shevchuk sought to capture the way sunlight transforms simple objects. This series of small oil paintings emerged from his appreciation for the quiet beauty of everyday scenes. "Small Breakfast 2" is a celebration of these moments, inviting viewers to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Although "Small Breakfast 2" is sold, it highlights Shevchuk's exceptional ability to turn simple scenes into works of art. His talent for capturing light and composition resonates with viewers, making each piece a unique treasure. Zakhar Shevchuk is a young professional painter and draftsman, he holds a master in arts degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (Kyiv, Ukraine) and now himself teaches at the academy. His artworks are held in public and private collections worldwide, furthermore, he often participates in various public projects, such as painting murals and other monumental installations.
With years Zakhar's artistic style moved away from academic realism (which always tended closer to expressionism) and towards the style that in somewhere on the edge between figurative art and abstraction. In many of his works, even those that may seem as fully abstract ones, you will find some elements that were intentionally added, aiming to trick your brain into believing that you have finally found something recognisable, something that matches the reality, but then you suddenly loose it, starting the search over and over again.
