The painting "Summer Yellow Field" captures the expansive beauty of a serene countryside landscape bathed in the warm, golden hues of summer. Executed in oil on cardboard, the artwork portrays a vibrant and tranquil scene of open fields stretching toward the horizon under a vast, gently clouded sky. The composition emphasizes the simplicity and harmony of nature, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the peaceful rhythm of the rural environment. In the foreground, the golden field dominates the scene, painted with rich, textured strokes that suggest the movement of tall grasses swaying gently in the breeze. Dotted throughout the field are clusters of wildflowers and delicate white blossoms, adding contrast and detail to the warm palette. The grasses, rendered in shades of yellow, ochre, and green, convey the vitality of summer and the richness of the land. The middle ground transitions into patches of deeper greens and browns, hinting at cultivated farmland, meadows, or distant vegetation. The interplay of light and shadow across the landscape creates depth and highlights the natural undulations of the terrain. A faint, meandering path or trail runs through the field, inviting the viewer’s gaze to follow it toward the horizon. In the distance, a serene river or lake reflects the soft light, its surface painted with cooler tones of blue and violet. Beyond the water, a line of trees and shrubs forms a natural boundary, painted in deep, muted colors that contrast with the brightness of the foreground. These distant elements provide a sense of scale and balance, enhancing the openness of the scene.Above, the sky stretches wide and endless, painted in soft blues with wisps of white clouds that suggest a calm summer day. The light is diffused and warm, illuminating the entire scene with a golden glow that emphasizes the season's tranquility and abundance.Through "Summer Yellow Field," the artist conveys a deep appreciation for the beauty and simplicity of nature in its prime. The painting celebrates the warmth and vitality of summer, inviting the viewer to reflect on the quiet joys of open landscapes and the restorative power of the natural world. The work evokes feelings of freedom, nostalgia, and peace, capturing the essence of a perfect summer day. With its vibrant colors and dynamic brushstrokes, the painting is a tribute to the timeless allure of rural life and the enduring connection between humans and the land. The artist invites the viewer to pause and appreciate the fleeting beauty of nature at its peak.

Yuriy Suprunchuk is a Ukrainian painter, born on April 11, 1961, in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. He received his formal art education at the Zheleznogorsk Art School (Russia), graduating in 1982, where he studied under V. Chukuev and E. Nikulin. In 2002, he became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
His artistic journey began in early childhood, when a moment of watching his mother paint sparked a deep fascination with art. Suprunchuk recalls how, as a small child, he once stayed up all night painting after being inspired by the scene of his mother working on a composition.
He later studied at the Kharkiv State Pedagogical Institute, where he not only refined his technical skills but also acquired deep theoretical knowledge and art teaching methodology. Under the mentorship of distinguished professors, he developed a strong foundation in both classical and contemporary Ukrainian art traditions. As a student and later as an educator himself, he placed a high emphasis on nurturing the individual talent and expression of his pupils.
Yurii Suprunchuk’s creative style blends realism with elements of romanticism and fantasy, often inspired by Ukrainian folklore, landscapes, and national cultural identity. His compositions are notable for their philosophical undercurrents and metaphysical dimensions. In his works, one can often find abstracted objects, symbolic figures, and stylized interpretations of natural forms.
His paintings are characterized by rhythmic compositions, balanced use of light, and expressive color schemes. He often explores existential themes and the metaphysical presence of the human spirit.
Suprunchuk’s creative approach is introspective and emotional, yet rooted in structured form. His works frequently portray female figures, domestic still lifes, Ukrainian village landscapes, and cultural archetypes. The recurrence of motifs like trees, fish, vessels, and abstract elements imbues his paintings with layered meaning, often inviting the viewer to contemplate deeper symbolic narratives.
In addition to his artistic practice, Yurii Suprunchuk has taught for many years, inspiring a new generation of artists in Zhytomyr. His students and colleagues recognize him not only for his exceptional talent, but also for his philosophical depth and dedication to the craft.
Today, his works are held in private collections and exhibitions, continuing to speak through color, form, and inner vision — a testament to the enduring power of Ukrainian painting.
