Grietas y Nocturnos nº2 (2025) Arte digitale da Úrsula San Cristóbal

The project Grietas/nocturnos (Cracks/nights) explores the poetic imaginary of Alejandra Pizarnik (1936-1972) linked to melancholy, loneliness and desire. Combining photography and digital drawing, the project seeks to evoke the idea of a body in becoming, which clings to the sensory as a way to preserve its link with life, even in moments of greatest anguish. A central aspect is the representation of the body surrounded by textures, where the individual emerges as an unfinished mosaic, a broken mirror that intertwines whispers under the surface of the skin. The body decomposes into fragments of light and shadow, textures of frozen water and cracks that reveal vulnerability, but also a deep desire for connection and suture. The project takes Pizarnik’s poetry as a starting point because it manages to name some of the most difficult states of existential suffering, and at the same time opens the door to a complex and nocturnal sensory dimension that returns us to the ineffable.

This particular piece has been inspired by this poem:
“…I have been told so much about how to live that death hovers over me at this moment as I seek the way out, I seek the way out. To return to my old endless pain, without resolution. I feared being left without an impossible. And I found it, of course, I found it.
