My name is Tereza Černá, I was born in 1988 in Nové Město nad Metují, Czech Republic. I studied graphic design at a secondary school and graduated in 2012 from the painting studio of Daniel Balabán at the University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic, where I received my Master of Arts degree. After studying at university, I moved to Prague, where I worked as an art teacher and participated in several solo and group exhibitions, and worked on murals for design stores and city galleries. I also enriched my previous studies at the university in the master's program with an internship at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts. So Barcelona has attracted me again after many years and now I live here. I also tried living in Cork, Ireland for three years, London for a year, and Tenerife, Canary Islands for two years. I drew inspiration for my paintings from all of these places. My concept of painting mixes elements of symbolism, realism, mysticism and expressionism. I deal with the concept of the soul and its movements in space and time. I am close to the teachings of shamanism, Taoism and various alternative spiritual techniques, which I bring into my paintings.
