Restricted Movement Series abstract paintings are based on movement, restriction and control. As colours and materials interact with one another, controlled movement occurs within a restricted environment. Here laws of nature and gravity govern and transcend visual imagination. This corresponds to the chronic condition of my spine which restricts my movement but became a strength.

Sung Lee's 'Lost Identity' abstract painting series explores her life's journey to find her cultural identity. It expresses the conflict of cultures, one of which she was born into (Korea), and the other, that which she has adapted (Australia). Between these two differing cultures she feels she has lost her identity. Sung's subject matter of interest is the human form, and in particular, the face. Her paintings are somewhat realistic with an abstract twist. She likes to explore cultural and abstract aspects through a variety of colours and shapes. These works are available as original works on canvas as well as limited edition prints.

All of us have a fear of something whether it be a fear of hurt, or pain. It may be caused by physical pain, emotional hurt or even our own imagination and limitations. No matter what it may be, this feeling is real and true to the sufferers. These abstract paintings evoke joy, and a feeling of happiness which may help reduce the feeling of fear on even comfort those in pain. The vibrant and bright colours of these paintings are seemingly randomly splashed yet are incorporated harmoniously through careful calculation. Do you suffer from pain? Would you like a drop of "Happy Splash"?

Biografía
Sung Lee is an Sydney, Australia based contemporary painter, sculptor and mixed media artist. She has studied art throughout her life and has graduated from the University of Sydney (Visual Arts). Initially, she began painting portraiture to establish her cultural identity. From there her work gradually developed to more abstract forms. She has expanded her artistic focus to the observation and appreciation of the natural world. As she travelled extensively, she became more aware of her surroundings and began to love nature and notice intricate details, which she translates into her art practice.
Sung has been awarded several times and was the recipient of a Merit Award in the Moreton Bay Art Prize, Brisbane Australia. She has exhibited her artwork in several group exhibitions including the “Fifth Perspective” in Fortitude Valley. She has also showcased her solo exhibition “Lost Identity” in Brisbane.
Sung's various abstract artworks have been purchased for display in specialist and dental waiting rooms and also for private offices and residences within Australia and Europe. Her artwork has also been collected by several public sectors such as the Brisbane North Institute of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) and the Brisbane and Southbank Institutes of Technology.
