For years I dreamed of painting in Monet's gardens, but it seemed impossible. Eventually I found a way.it wasn't easy and it wasn't cheap but I wanted it bad enough to do it anyway. Finally one weekday afternoon I found myself alone on a bridge, under the blooming wisteria. Sitting on a tiny stool with only four tubes of acryluc paint, two small canvases [...]
For years I dreamed of painting in Monet's gardens, but it seemed impossible. Eventually I found a way....it wasn't easy and it wasn't cheap but I wanted it bad enough to do it anyway.

Finally one weekday afternoon I found myself alone on a bridge, under the blooming wisteria. Sitting on a tiny stool with only four tubes of acryluc paint, two small canvases and a couple worn out brushes. Not ideal, but doable....and then came the rain. I kept painting under the dripping wisteria. Worst pieces I have ever seen (and I assure you will never see them) but when I was back home in the studio I painted this piece from memories of actually being there. If you look closely in the painting, you can see the rain.

Sue paints live events and pleinaire wherever she is. Travel inspires her work, keeping it fresh and colorful. 

Whenever she is home, SUE LORENZ paints daily from her studio in the clouds high above the Houston skyline unless she has an opportunity to travel to a site to paint with other artists or an event. She is represented by Grimandi Gallery NYC.
