First things to remember, this oil on canvas is a part of “The joy Urgency” series. This collection was born from the artist’s experience working in pediatric oncology. These little patients are deeply aware of death and it is they who taught Stella Polare to value every moment of their life. Even the smallest moment of relief from pain in sick children means joy. Indeed, they use everything they have: their energy, their time, to live as fully as possible. This experience completely changed Khulkar’s profession at the time to that of an artist, and later gave birth to a series of abstracts in oil on canvas entitled “The Emergency of Joy Series”. The artist says that to feel alive, joyful, some people jump from a parachute, some preserve daily life as a couple, like a woman who loses her partner. Each person or creature, letter applies this necessary urgency of joy in their own way and conscience in order to be as happy as possible. Over time the “The joy Urgency” collection has also become that of artistic scarves that can be worn.
STELLA POLARE
French-Uzbek young contemporary artist, based in Paris. Her real name, Khulkar, is translated as «polare star», that is why she sas chosen the artistic name Stella Polare. Today the artist aims to transmit the message that it is «urgent to be joyful» though her art. Indeed the concept the artist is developing she called “vitaculture”, that means the joy urgency. Stella Polare exhibited at UNESCO, Louvre, she had also carte blanche at Palais Jacques Coeur in 2021, the same year 2021 she was invited to the Parole des Femmes, public talk at the House of the Great French writer, Maison de George Sand.

Je signe toutes mes oeuvres artistiques et travaux «Stellla Polare». Mon nom réel est Khulkar YUNUSOVA. Je suis née en Ouzbékistan. Je vis et je travaille en France. Ma grand-mère m’a donné le prénom Khulkar qui signifie l’étoile polaire. Ce dernier a détérminé ma signature artistique.
Après mes études en économie et gestion, j’ai travaillé en industrie pharmaceutique. Lors de mes missions j’ai été confrontée aux enfants souffrants de l’oncologie pédiatrique en stade palliatif. Conscients de la mort, le moindre instant d’accalémie dans leurs douleurs était synonyme de bonheur pour eux. Cette sagesse a renversé ma perception statique du bonheur. A l’époque il engloblait le succès social ouzbèque (le foyer) et français (carrière, emancipation). Aujourd’hui mon bonheur est devenu aussi éphémère que la lumière en changement constant et en contraste permanent avec l’ombre.
Puis-je être heureuse longtemps sans avoir peur de la mort, sans alterner avec les moments de douleurs? Pourquoi avoir peur de la mort si son seul absolutisme m’offre le focus sur le meilleur au moment présent?
