This Painting is called Blue as it includes blue aspects of life both visually and emotionally. The two women in the painting are actually sitting in their own cities far away from each other and oblivious to each other's presence. The lady in white and black is in Chefchaouen, Morocco while the one in yellow and orange is in Jodhpur India. I am an Indian and I know that Jodhpur is a beautiful blue city of India in Rajasthan. However, when I visited Morocco, I was surprised to find an uncanny similarity in Chefchaouen. I was intrigued by the fact that two cities, one in North Africa and the other in India which are so much different both culturally and geographically can have so much commonality. That intrigued me to paint this piece. The two old women have their own stories, own troubles and thoughts to talk about, sitting in different parts of the Globe yet so similar and joined in their grief. The World is definitely one. We are all same, we just live apart.

Life is an art and I am living every moment of my life in various colors! Though my professional experience ranges from advertising to media planning to marketing research, my first love or passion is and will always remain art (though have never taken it up professionally). I love to express my thoughts and emotions through paints and pencils. I am forty five and have been associated with painting and sketching ever since I was three.

I am a freelancer and my accomplishments include national painting awards in India, exhibitions in both India and Gulf, magazine covers et al.
