In this painting, I tried to capture the joy I feel for the fairy realms in the expression of the wise woman elf as she walks through the woodland wildflowers watching the flower fairies spin and dance around the daisies, cornflowers and buttercups at such volocity.

The inspiration for this piece came from the nature reserve close to my home where there are little waterfalls overhung by the trees.

Originally from Tonbridge, Kent, I was always making things as a child, my mother following me around the house with projects strewn everywhere. My grandparents were keen artists and gave me lots of encouragement.


In my early 20’s, I undertook a National Diploma course in Graphic Design and then went on to the Surrey Institute in Epsom to gain a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design.  Following 13 years as a Graphic Designer, I decided to fulfil my dream of becoming a Lecturer and pass on what I'd learned. I undertook a PGCE at Northbrook College and gained employment at West Kent College, Ravensbourne and Nescot, where I lectured in Graphic Design, Art and Music. I thrived in helping adults young and old to make their dreams come true. I also unfolded my healing gifts through shamanic and reiki training.

Motherhood, enabled me to return to my own illustration and art projects. My most recent project has been to paint local landscapes that hold fond memories for me and bring great joy and British wildlife. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have...
