In this work I have researched some natural elements - typical of the Tuscan countryside - that I love and painted them with quick brushstrokes and without hesitation, trying to preserve simplicity, authenticity and liveliness.
My aim was to create a painting that, once hung, would radiate light throughout the room, like a window wide open to the outside world.
This painting was created in the studio in December 2022. It is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on Masonite, a panel of compressed wood fibre. Masonite is a material that was widely used by artists in the first half of the 20th century as a support for their paintings because it is extremely strong and crushproof. I love painting on this material because its very smooth surface allows me to achieve effects that cannot be achieved on other materials. I also have the guarantee of high durability.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected by a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin wooden frame in natural colour to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"Composition with leaves, pines and cypresses" is a literal translation of the original Italian title “Composizione con foglie, pini e cipressi”.

I started out as a portrait painter at a very young age, later shifting my interest to nature. I thus began an artistic journey in which the study of painting merged with the discovery of the world around me, making me discover beauty in every corner. I see nature as a mystery to be unravelled, and painting as the best tool to do so. I dream of being able to create works that, with essential brushstrokes, can tell the story of the nature I am experiencing at that moment, in its entirety. But my paintings are not just landscapes. They are compositions that tell stories, moods or situations transfigured in nature. I paint mainly en plein air, using oil colours. The setting of the work is classical, figurative, perspective. The choice of colours is post-impressionist, with pure colours, often juxtaposed, mixed directly on the canvas. The execution is quick and unhesitating, typically expressionist. There is no drawing, painting is drawing. I like to paint on paper and then transfer to canvas. As a separate discipline, I am also interested in portraiture, which I have always done, also on commission.
