INDIFFERENCE

The difference makes it impossible to make decisions, to take actions, it does not discern because everything is irrelevant, incapable of making changes with respect to the existing condition. This condition of disinterest involves personal freedom because the active will of choice is lacking. There are no clear boundaries between what is right and what is not. The in-difference is a state of complete disinterest in the destiny of others. To an indifferent person, they do not care about the feelings of others and what they will have to face in the course of their lives. The indifferent does not care about his own planet, about climate changes, about his environmental ecological system of the land he lives in. But is not the difference really a feeling so negative or just a choice not to remain at the mercy of our fears? Our society is more and more distracted, more detached, people are always more alone and end up debasing the most authentic part of themselves and relationships with each other lose meaning. This is the true power of difference: living without the need for answers. Because as Albert Einstein said: "the world is not threatened by people who hurt, but by those who tolerate it".

It is important to go back to believing that it is possible to make the difference, that is to recover the ability to listen, to feel and understand one's own and others' feelings, to overcome the emotional "poverty" that leads to repetitive hostility that covers the deepest emotions such as the fear, shame, proximity. The difference in believing and returning is aware that the construction of a more just and truer society is entrusted to the collaboration of all. This world is also made up of people in the true sense of the word. People who help, who struggle, who love others and others with strength and spirit. Recovering personal freedom through an active will of choice, free from dogmas and prejudices, and overcoming prejudices and attachment to differences is the indispensable precondition for an open dialogue capable of saving our planet.

We are now at the fourth edition of the National Actual Arts Competition. As in the past we have chosen a topic that voluntarily leaves a lot of freedom for the participants who decide to get involved by submitting their works.
