"Groove Is in the Art" came together shape by shapes, layer by layer. I was playing with rhythm, shape, and movement, letting the colors lead the way. The palette is a mix of blues, orange, red, pink, greens, purples and deep browns. This artwork is bold, a little quirky, and full of energy. The style draws on elements of Cubism and geometric abstraction, breaking up shapes, reassembling them, and finding harmony through contrast. Multiple layers of paint create a subtle texture and richness on the canvas, adding depth that reveals itself gradually as you look closer.

The artwork has been finished with a gloss varnish to protect against UV and dust.

The artwork was painted on un-stretched Italian cotton canvas, with a 6 cm border left for stretching onto a canvas frame. This artwork is shipped rolled in a tube for safe international delivery and can be affordably stretched at your local framing store.

Samantha Malone (born 1978) is an Australian/Israeli artist currently based in Tel Aviv. Her work is inspired by geometric abstraction, cubism, and the dynamic interplay between order and chaos. Her paintings are characterized by dynamic compositions, vibrant colors and layered patterns. Through her work, she reflects on themes of fragmentation and interconnectedness, illustrating how distinct elements can coexist to create a visually compelling narrative.

Working primarily with acrylic paint, Samantha employs a mixed-media approach that includes markers, pencils, and oil sticks to create depth and texture. Her process involves layering colors and patterns, sometimes scraping back layers to reveal hidden hues beneath. This technique encourages viewers to engage more deeply with the composition. The interplay of bold shapes, organic forms, and vibrant colors invites a sense of movement and emotion, along with an element of playfulness.
