L’aller de middelharnis - Interpretation (2020) 绘画 由 Sabine Aramouni

Sabine Aramouni is a visual artist from Beirut, Lebanon with an MA in Plastic Arts. Being also a professional body trainer, she draws inspiration from the human body and the effect of various trainings and stimulants on the body, the brain and the soul.

"Electrical Stimulation" is a series of 11 mixed media artworks that discuss power and control through vibrant colors and compositions. Inspired by the concept of EMS body training (electrical muscle stimulation), where electrical pulses are sent to different body muscle fibers, Sabine Aramouni creates an artistic demonstration of different pulse waves. A delicate play between the sender and receiver of these contractions, she showcases the implications of the electrical suit on the human body.

Three major artworks “Alpha”, “Beta 1” & ”Beta 2”, have a vertical presence whose size resemble that of the artist’s body. Eight smaller artworks represent the 8 pads of the EMS machine that are to be connected to the 8 major muscles of the body during training. Through this project, Sabine aims to show the results of the electrical waves on the human body represented by the canvas.
