A l’occasion d’une fin de contrat professionnel, Manuela Limacher fait enfin le choix de les écouter et surtout de les suivre… Après un temps d’apprentissage auprès de deux professeurs et d’ateliers de modèle vivant, elle se consacre désormais entièrement à sa pratique artistique…
Avec son médium de prédilection, l’acrylique, elle tente de transposer sur la toile son monde intérieur et ses propres questionnements, sur la psyché humaine, l’inconscient, le rapport au temps, le temps présent, le temps pour soi, l'introspection et la relation de l’humain avec lui même et avec le monde… Plus exactement, et plus qu’une intention en première instance, c’est l’observation de la toile achevée qui permet d’identifier ce fil conducteur de son travail…
Pratiquante d’arts martiaux internes depuis de nombreuses années, elle est aussi concernée par la notion, chère à la philosophie asiatique, d’équilibre, ce qui se traduit dans sa pratique en une recherche du juste milieu entre le fini et l’inachevé, le sombre et la lumière, le figuratif et l’abstraction… Outre l’équilibre, la retenue est en effet le principal défi, à ses yeux…
