Béatrice Mitry, issue par sa mère d´une famille d´artistes sur plusieurs générations (sculpteurs et maitre-verriers) a pratiqué le dessin depuis son plus jeune âge. Elle débute par le style impressionniste à l´acrylique avec Michèle Bourgeois, puis à l´huile avec Alexander Makarenko. Elle passe ensuite au Réalisme et se forme à la technique des maitres flamands et ses innombrables couches transparentes sur panneau de bois avec la restauratrice Christine Mayer. A partir de 2006, elle développe son propre style, commence à exposer et travaille surtout le portrait. Elle réalise également un chemin de croix de 14 stations et une cinquantaine œuvres à caractère spirituel. Après une pause où elle se consacre à sa famille, elle écrit un conte pour enfants dont elle réalise les illustrations à l´aquarelle. Elle le publie sous le pseudonyme de Mary Breceitti: "Histoire du premier petit ver", disponible sur Amazon et en librairie. Sa rencontre avec les bâtonnets de pastel marque un tournant dans son évolution. Emerveillée par les possibilités de ce médium, sa spontanéité, tactilité et l´intensité des couleurs, Béatrice Mitry se prend de passion pour le pastel et enchaine les Master Classes avec des maître-pastellistes réputés: le Mauricien Siddick Nuckcheddy, l´Espagnol Aurelio Rodriguez Lopez, l´Urkrainienne Olena Duchêne, le jeune prodige Alexis Le Borgne, et aussi Patrick Henry, Sylvie Poirson, Annick Vallenet, Lucy Michiels, Cantarana... Elle est membre de la société de pastel allemande (Deutsche Pastell Gesellschaft DPG), du Pastel Guild of Europe, de Pastel en Dauphiné, de Pastel en Bourgogne et de l´Art du Pastel en Normandie. Ses œuvres se trouvent dans des collections privées en France, Allemagne, Autriche, Belgique, Suisse, Irlande, aux Etats-Unis et en Espagne.
