Nel 2019 nasce il sodalizio artistico tra Antonio Bruscella (1976) e Nunzio Capece (1954). Due linguaggi diversi e due generazioni da cui nascono idee, progetti ed opere che diventano nuova materia culturale.
Ogni artista ritiene che il proprio lavoro sia il meglio, se non l'assoluto dell'arte, e spesso minimizza, o peggio, ridicolizza il lavoro degli altri più o meno apertamente, d'altra parte questo accadeva anche tra Picasso e Matisse. Tra Capece e Bruscella abbiamo il contrario, figurativo realista il primo, astratto geometrico il secondo, nessun punto di contatto; ed è da questa apparente incongruenza che nascono gli ultimi lavori, in un linguaggio ibrido anche nelle tecniche e nei materiali.
Per i due artisti, figurativo è racconto perché un'opera deve raccontare, astratto o informale è atmosfera o emozione. E dunque dalle tele cromaticamente geometriche di Bruscella, sbucano siluette ispirate a prototipi più iconici, indifferentemente arcaici o contemporanei, a riempire spazi bidimensionali, per arrivare alle ultime sperimentazioni con i bassorilievi di Capece che diventano supporti tridimensionali per le costruzioni astratte di Bruscella, in un miscuglio di tecniche vecchie e nuove rielaborate in chiave moderna.
La pittura e la scultura stessa diventano prodotto di questa ibridazione concettuale: ed ecco che da una composizione astratta del Bruscella, a sorpresa emerge come un fantasma il ritratto di un Federico da Montefeltro, della ragazza con l'orecchino di perla, o di altre icone dell'arte o meno, facendo percepire visivamente il legame culturale tra antico e contemporaneo, sottolineando allo stesso tempo le matrici italiane ed europee di cui i due artisti sono espressione e portatori.
Un'operazione di alto profilo che tenta di riportare alle origini un primato culturale ed una identità che ci apparteneva. L'audace sperimentazione non è sfuggita all'attenzione di Vittorio Sgarbi che ne ha apprezzato lo spirito apponendo il suo autografo sul retro di un "Urbinate" il 30-06-2023 a Sant'Angelo le Fratte (Pz).
