Leandro Boi si riconosce da sempre un amante dell'arte in tutte le sue forme ed espressioni. Fin da ragazzo si dedica alla musica studiando chitarra e facendo parte di diversi gruppi musicali. Approfondisce privatamente lo studio sugli arrangiamenti armonici e sulla composizione collaborando alla produzione di diverse pubblicazioni musicali, sia come arrangiatore che come musicista. Intorno agli anni ’90 attratto dall’artigianato della sua terra, si dedica alla costruzione dei famosi coltelli sardi. Dopo tre anni di ricerche storiche sull’origine dei taglienti scrive e pubblica il libro “Coltelli Sardi”. Il Volume ripercorre la storia della metallurgia sarda partendo dai Nuragici (8000 - 3000 a.c.) forgiatori di armi e fornitori delle stesse agli antichi Egizi, per arrivare all'attuale coltello a serramanico. Dopo un periodo di pausa durato qualche anno, rimette mano alla penna e pubblica un romanzo d’amore dal titolo “Infine arrivò lei”. Ma la voglia di esprimersi con l’arte manuale si fa sentire di nuovo e più preponderante che mai. Quasi per gioco mette mano ai pennelli e scopre che la pittura era uno dei suoi amori rimasti al buio fino ad ora. Infatti con la tenacia che lo contraddistingue, dedica tempo allo studio delle varie tecniche utilizzate nella pittura e in poco meno di due anni riesce a portare a termine più di cento opere. La caratteristica principale del suo stile è quella di cercare di riprodurre ciò che lo circonda nella maniera più realistica possibile.
