Raunak Rai is an acclaimed contemporary Indian artist known for his bold thematic explorations and evolving visual language. With a foundation in figurative painting and Indian mythology, Raunak’s artistic journey reflects a deep engagement with culture, society, and spiritual philosophy.
Over the past two decades, he has presented 8 solo exhibitions and participated in over 50 group shows across India and internationally. His work has been widely recognized for its emotional depth, layered storytelling, and conceptual strength.

Artistic Journey
Raunak’s early works were inspired by Indian epics like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Shiva Purana, Vishnu Purana, and Devi Purana. His portrayal of mythological themes—especially strong female deities like Kali and Durga—highlighted leadership, resistance, and societal change.
Equally committed to social commentary, he has addressed issues such as women empowerment, environmental protection, and religious awareness, often merging traditional symbolism with contemporary urgency.
A signature part of his work is the expressive human form, particularly female figures—explored through portraits, full-body compositions, and nudes that intertwine memory, sensuality, and symbolism.
His provocative series “Sex & Crime” gained attention for boldly confronting taboo subjects, aiming to spark dialogue around societal imbalances and suppressed truths.
