Born in Detroit Michigan, Steven moved to Ohio in 1970. Steven has studied Renaissance painting technique and art history for most of his life and has worked as a professional artist and designer all of his adult life. He currently resides in Cloumbus, Ohio with his wife and three sons.

Steven loves to interject symbolism, folklore and mythology into his painitngs. He completes several portraits throughout each year as contracted. Each of the pcharacters in his works is drawn or painted from a model or personal friend, family member or acquaintance.

Steven's works are a part of private and corporate collections all over the US, the UK, Canada, Hong Kong and China.

I believe that ART is the ability of mankind to tap into the part of the makeup of humanity that is God-like. Art is not a luxury, but a necessity for living. The creative aspect of each individual is the driving force behind individuality, free intellect, cognition and expression. Art is the ultimate human language - and the first human language.
I believe that censorship of the arts is a great injustice.
I believe that silencing the artist is the first step to oppression and tyrannical rule.
I believe that my art should speak for itself.
I believe that an artist is not paid for his time...
but his vision.

I do not list awards.

I have been published, but I do not view awards as pertinent or prerequisite to success. The satisfaction and pleasure of the individual viewing the artwork is the reward.
