The 6th Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale features three major exhibitions: the 6th China Youth Sculpture Exhibition, the “Rainbow — From the World of Bridges” Contemporary Art Exhibition, and the “We’re Better Off” International Contemporary Art Exhibition, which will be open to the public for free from April 15 to June 25 for 70 days. The theme of the 6th Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale is “Vivid Jiangnan, Charming Suzhou“. The Biennale has obtained extensive response and support from artists around the world, attracting more than 100 artists from over 17 countries; and over 2000 artworks will be exhibited.
Wu Weishan, Deputy secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of CDL, Director of the National Art Museum of China, Vice Chairman of China Artists Association, was invited to serve as the Chair of Academic Activities. In addition, Carlos Cruz-Diez Jr., Director of Atelier Cruz-Diez Paris; Wu Hongliang, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, President of the Beijing Painting Academy; and Shang Rong, Professor of Nanjing University, President of Sculptors Association of Jiangsu Province, Deputy Secretary of the Chinese Urban Sculpture Artists Association, serve as the co-curators of the biennale.
A total of 20 parallel exhibitions and more than 300 Aesthetic education activities will be held around the city in cultural and art institutions, educational and training institutions, business associations, commercial entities and other non-governmental sectors. With this grand biennale, we will unveil to the world the unique charm of Suzhou, and, the advanced technological and cultural features of Suzhou Industrial Park. The Biennale will help promote China’s cultural projects that benefit the people and inject energy and passion into the life of people.
