Son univers gravite autour des femmes et plus particulièrement de ses amies. À travers ses toiles d’un style figuratif, elle peint leurs désirs, leurs envies, leurs peines, leur sensualité et les moments simples que Barbara partage avec elles.
Barbara nous dit que pour elle, l’image et le vêtement sont très importants : « J’aborde mes peintures comme un édito. On y retrouve les marques de mode que j’affectionne. Aussi bien une fille en Adidas qu’en Chanel. D’ailleurs certaines de mes peintures sont inspirées de mes photos que je prends. »
