I will now share the end to this journey and story of my meanderings at the Saugerties Lighthouse. Read on if you will.
When I arrived I was surprised no one else was there, no cars in the parking area, no people on the pathways that wind in and out of the rushes to the lighthouse. I stopped numerous times to take pics, noting the same thing repeatedly "Gee we have no water where I live (only 40 miles away) but they sure have a lot of water in this river...it is right up to the walkways!" Well this little chat with myself went on for the entire excursion. As I grew very close to the lighthouse, I was forced to pull up my pant legs and wade through the mire flooding into the path. At the end of the journey...here at the deck picnic area, I noticed the water covering the top step where normally people would walk down to play in the waters and swim. again I said aloud "gee the water is plentiful here!"
And then the lights went off inside, I realized this is a TIDAL river...which meant I was there at near high tide and better shag my butt back to higher ground or face being stranded for quite a few hours! LOL! You talk about oblivious when involved in something as special as all the natural wonders along the way to the lighthouse! Please do not applaud...LAUGH!!!!~!~

Welcome
Though I have had formal training in the art of design, it has been through life's events that I have been most inspired. The profound experiences encountered in nature have been my mentors in creativity, as well as a few very special people along the way.
I study today not with a book or an instructor in a classroom, but rather in the quietude I find continually in nature, among the birds and wildlife of my area. The earth and its inhabitants are my guides, leading me to new adventures not noticed prior. The animals are trusting of me, knowing I will cause them no harm. I study the flowers and how the wind blows them, the wildlife and their movements, interactions, nesting habits, and the care of the young as they arrive. I examine the snows, and the leaves in autumn, as there is amazement with each season's change that I am fortunate enough to experience.
The artworks I create have an added dimension, one that only I know has been drawn upon. There are elements in each piece, that if one looks very closely, you will be sure to discover, just as I have discovered a brightly colored leaf resting under a foot of snow in January, untarnished by the temperatures of the winter in the mountains.
