This is a series of paintings using Ukrainian symbols, ornaments and letters of the alphabet. Starting with Berehini and kolovorot, passing through the ornaments of national embroidery and ending with ruthenia (the alphabet developed by V.Chebanyk).
I want to show that Ukrainians are not only a "cherry orchard around the house", but also a powerful ancient culture rooted in Tripillia and ancient Kyivan Rus.
Kolovrat is one of the most ancient symbols of the Slavs, which personifies the course of the Sun and the gods associated with it. In Kyiv Rus - Ukraine, Kolovrat was of great importance for our ancestors, since their life - work, holidays and important events, were timed to coincide with solar dates, and the Sun itself was revered as a symbol of life, strength, energy and fertility.
Everything in our Universe rotates, from atoms to planets, the comprehensive Kolovrat symbol reflects this.

Hello! My name is Tatyana , I'm a professional mixed media artist based in Kiev, Ukraine.

In most of my work, you can find a symbolic context (in colors, shapes, composition, etc.). Even in a seemingly simple painting, such as a flower or a tree, there is a whole story or message hidden in the depths.
I explore in my painting the connection between times, the connection between generations. Renaissance, drawings by old masters transmit their secrets through time.
Symbols hidden in each subject of the composition of the picture awaken the imagination.
Why today can the art and architecture of past centuries speak to us in such a sensual language? Why are they so clear to us and touch the strings of the soul?
My art inspired by nature and mystic history .
