Petro Boyko is a truly remarkable and multifaceted figure in the art world. Born in 1954 in Priluki, Chernihiv region, Ukraine, he is not only a celebrated artist but also a passionate collector with a vast house-museum filled with hundreds of paintings and antiquities. From the age of five, Boyko demonstrated an insatiable thirst for collecting, a passion that has continued throughout his life.

In his youth, Boyko embraced the "hippie" movement, traveling extensively and challenging Soviet norms. His rebellious, anti-Soviet stance led to repeated detentions by the police and KGB. Due to his opposition views, he was even sent to military service in the "construction battalion" in the Arkhangelsk region, tasked with felling trees – a testament to his strong convictions and unyielding spirit.

Despite these challenges, Boyko's dedication to art never wavered. He often joined Priluki artists for sketching sessions, eventually leading him to enroll in the Moscow All-Union People's Academy of Painting in 1985, where he studied under L. Kastorina and graduated in 1993. During his academic years, he was fortunate to receive lessons from renowned masters such as Ilya Glazunov and Zurab Tsereteli, further refining his artistic vision.

Since the 1980s, Boyko frequently visited Odessa, engaging with influential non-conformist artists and representatives of the Odessa avant-garde, including V. Basanets, E. Usov, and Yu. Kovalenko, as well as the Priluki artist P. Mironenko. It was the lessons from Yu. Kovalenko, in particular, that profoundly shaped Boyko's worldview, creative style, and life philosophy.

Boyko's career took off in 1992, with participation in regional and all-Ukrainian exhibitions. His personal exhibitions have captivated audiences in Chernigov (2010), Kyiv (2011), and Odessa (2012). In recognition of his significant contributions to art, he became a Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in 2012.

His international recognition grew with his participation in the "Ukrainian seasons of modern art in Hong Kong" exhibition, where his work stood alongside leading Ukrainian artists. He was also one of thirteen artists featured in the significant "Hipsters in Kyiv" exhibition at the Sofia art gallery (December 13, 2008 – January 14, 2009).
