Description: "shootMe" is a thought-provoking artwork that combines a gun with a large camera, symbolizing the increasing power and weapon-like nature of cameras in today's society. It addresses the problematic social background of the widespread use of cameras, highlighting concerns about privacy invasion, surveillance, and the potential harm caused by image manipulation.
The artist aims to provoke reflection on the ethical implications of our camera-dependent culture, questioning whether the pursuit of the perfect shot has overshadowed our respect for privacy, authenticity, and the consequences of our actions.
"shootMe" challenges viewers to consider the complex relationship between technology, power, and responsibility in our contemporary world.
Pascal Engelhardt, a German artist with Greek roots, was born in Germany and later lived and worked in Los Angeles, USA, for 12 years. Upon returning to his home country, Pascal embarked on a new artistic journey, focusing on provocative and thought-provoking artwork that addresses societal and global political issues and contradictions. His recent works are truly outstanding and have the ability to make people ponder the influence of media, brands, and social media on society.
Pascal's art is intertwined with his political beliefs and serves as a medium to express his dissenting views. Despite facing challenges and hardships, Pascal's creativity and experimentation in his artwork remain boundless.
