Ukrainian photographer and visual artist who lives and works in Italy. Art and photography occupied an important place in her life since childhood. A lawyer by profession, Olena gratefully calls the Kyiv School of Photography her photographic alma mater.
For her, photography is one of the ways of living creativity. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Noticing details, the inconspicuous, discovering combinations and paradoxes, echoing elements, she gets aesthetic pleasure and shares this through her works. Shows the fascinating in the ordinary.
In photography, she admires diversity, explores the aesthetics of different genres and directions. Shadows, the combination of textures and colors, the beauty of surface imperfections, the visual effects that occur at certain angles and in light rays, the harmony of black and white and the atmosphere created by color.
Olena also experiments with Artificial Intelligence, ceramics and drawing.

Her photo books, series, and individual works have been awarded honorable mentions, nominations, and individual awards at such international competitions as International Photography Awards, International Black and White Spider Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards, London International Creative Competition, International Color Awards.
Many of Olena's photographs are featured in various exhibitions at The Glasgow Gallery of Photography.
Her works took part at the exhibition of Contemporary Ukrainian Photography in Kyiv.
Olena Tarnovska's works are published in the book "100 Contemporary Ukrainian Photographers", that will be presented by FORM. Paris Publishing on Photo Basel @photobasel 11-16 June 2024, within the framework of Art Basel, at the photo festival in Arles, in Paris, Vienna, New York and other cities.
