Jean-Luc Lacroix is een hedendaagse Franse kunstenaar. Lacroix biedt oud gereedschap en andere spullen de kans op een beter leven. Hij heeft het vermogen om te zien wat er achter zelfs de meest voorkomende objecten schuilgaat, wat hem een vurige versie van Baudelaire maakt.
In zijn schilderijen verwerkt hij grafische afbeeldingen, kalligrafie, typografie en andere artistieke 'keukens', terwijl hij materialen en kleuren vakkundig gebruikt om nieuwe, steeds subtielere nuances te produceren. Hij presenteert zijn kijk op de wereld voor ons op een onderscheidende manier, met kracht, poëzie en passie, met behulp van canvas, papier, hout of zelfs golfkarton.
