Leni Smoragdova is een zeer creatieve fotograaf en kunstenaar. Zij is de bedenker van de Transaction Art concepten. Aanvankelijk bedacht ze de slogan: "We zijn kinderen van oorlog; oorlog is geld; geld heeft geen gezicht; het is zo simpel als transactie; we zijn kinderen van transactie; we zijn kinderen met verborgen gezichten."
TransactionArt werd geboren in Londen; ze ontmoette een muze, de muze van de transactiekunst, en ze begon de gezichten van de mensen te verbergen in haar kunst, 'verborgen gezichten' genoemd. Destijds werd de "Cijferscollectie" uitgebracht.
Leni Smoragdova woont en werkt momenteel in Israël. Ze behaalde diploma's aan de Smolensk State University in Rusland en Central Saint Martins in het Verenigd Koninkrijk (Londen).
