Elizabeth Becker is a contemporary artist based in Pennsylvania, United States. She studied fine art at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, University of the Arts and Millersville University, where she earned her BA in Psychology and BSE in Art Education. Elizabeth works primarily in watercolor. She is drawn to the spontaneity and immediacy of this medium, which has taught her to become present in the moment, relinquish control and embrace imperfections. Elizabeth’s work is an exploration of emotion and her spiritual connection to nature. Working loosely and viscerally, she relinquishes control, allowing the paint to have a life of its own as colors bleed together and slowly bloom. Through evolving layers and abstractions, she hopes to capture the elusive, transcendent essence of her subjects.
