De mon lieu de naissance, en Afrique du Nord, j'ai gardé le goût des couleurs et des épices. J'ai toujours dessiné. Des portraits essentiellement. Dessiner et peindre en noir et blanc. Puis la couleur est arrivée en vivant en Toscane.
Je n’ai pas de diplôme d'art. je suis autodidacte et professeur d'anglais, un métier qui m'a permis d'avoir du temps pour peindre.
J'essaie d'entrer presque par effraction dans l'intimité du "regard". La couleur est mon moteur qui marche à l'huile, au pastel, à l'acrylique et à l'encre.
Le regard me fascine, celui du modèle vivant, celui que je vois dans un paysage que je scrute comme un visage. Tout est matière à regarder, l'autre et moi-même..
La couleur me rend heureuse, m'enthousiasme. Elle est partout et pourtant elle est souvent invisible donc j'essaie toujours avec mes petits moyens de la rendre visible.
