Alex Johanson is een hedendaagse Poolse kunstenaar. Gefascineerd door het Poolse landschap, folklore en geschiedenis creëert hij zijn originele en onconventionele werken van interessante vorm en kleur. Onder hen kun je smal getailleerde, rondborstige vrouwen, mannen met hoge hoeden of Lajkonik-vrouwen vinden.
Hij maakt schilderijen, houten sculpturen en keramische vormen, de voorstellingen van vrouwen en mannen met kenmerkende neuzen, uitpuilende ogen en zwanenhalzen. Het zijn echtparen verstrengeld in liefdevolle omhelzingen, die met elkaar communiceren met het duidelijke en letterlijke gebruik van hun tong.
