Nives Palmić is schilder en tekenleraar. Haar uitgangspunt is uniciteit te bereiken, niets of niemand na te doen: ze wil volledig eerlijk zijn in haar werk. Ze begrijpt dat het haar rol is om een boodschapper te zijn en niet alleen een marketeer, en ziet het belang van kunst in communicatie, om mensen te herinneren aan alles wat essentieel is voor de mens. Ze is beïnvloed door de kunst van oude culturen, zoals middeleeuwse en Perzische miniatuurschilderkunst.
Nives Palmić werd geboren in 1961 in Kroatië. Ze studeerde af aan de Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Ljubljana. Tegenwoordig werkt ze als tekenleraar, maar ook als mentor en recensent voor kunsttentoonstellingen. Nives Palmić is ook de auteur van een populair instructieboek "Van tekening tot schilderij", gepubliceerd in 2011.
De afgelopen jaren floreerde ze in de abstracte schilderkunst en toegepaste kunst zoals schilderen en stofdrukken. Maar vandaag richt ze zich vooral op tekenen. Ze heeft een optimale expressie bereikt door het gebruik en de beheersing van klassieke tekentechnieken zoals grafietpotlood, houtskool, inkt en pastel.
Haar inspiratiebronnen zijn voornamelijk natuurlijke vormen, fascinatie voor planten, bloemen, bomen en anderzijds ornament als middel om ideeën visueel uit te drukken. Textuur is essentieel in zijn tekeningen, weerspiegelt het karakter van elk motief en voegt een sensuele dimensie toe.
