Philippe Berthier is een autodidactische fotograaf die beelden creëert die de grenzen tussen fotografie en schilderkunst doen vervagen. Hij is gefascineerd door beelden van alle formaten, film of digitaal, en voegt er soms verf aan toe.
Hij voelt zich in het bijzonder aangetrokken tot thema's als vrouwen, het leven en beweging in het algemeen. Zijn werk wordt gekenmerkt door het experimenteren met verschillende creatiemethoden, collages op verschillende dragers, het gebruik van verschillende materialen... Als een alchemist in zijn hol is het laboratorium voor hem een apart veld van ervaring.
Philippe Berthier is een Franse kunstenaar, geboren in 1966 in Maine et Loire, die momenteel woont en werkt in Trébeurden (Frankrijk). Zijn werk is gepubliceerd in het tijdschrift Artension (Frankrijk) en hij heeft deelgenomen aan talrijke tentoonstellingen.
