Emma Lapassouze is een hedendaagse bekroonde Franse kunstenaar. Haar artistieke universum is een mengeling van picturale creaties, gebeeldhouwde assemblages en installaties, die hun oorsprong vinden in een interesse in materie en materialen. Ze zeilde lange tijd tussen deze twee artistieke stromingen: "Matiérisme" en Lyrische Abstractie om eindelijk de Materie uit het frame te halen.
Haar recente werken stellen onze relatie met de Levenden in vraag, met de mens tot onze omgeving, tot verbindingen met onze binnen- en buitenruimte. Lapassouze schildert ruimtes van verbindingen met haar favoriete materiaal: koffiedik. Ze integreert lichaamsindrukken in haar schilderijen, beeldhouwt dood hout, associeert scherven van glas, stenen, gips en probeert een vorm van energie te injecteren in schijnbaar inerte elementen.
Emma Lapassouze werd geboren in 1978 in Frankrijk, waar ze een diploma in plastische kunsten in Bordeaux behaalde. Ze heeft geëxposeerd in Frankrijk, China, Zwitserland, Canada, Israël, België en Spanje.
