Javier Alonso Labrador is een kunstenaar-fotograaf, geboren in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1965. Afgestudeerd in de chemische wetenschappen aan de Universiteit van La Laguna in 1993, behaalde hij ook een diploma in artistieke fotografie aan de "Fernando Estévez" School of Arts in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1995. Momenteel werkt hij als fotografieleraar aan de "Pancho Lasso" School of Arts in Arrecife de Lanzarote, waar hij lesgeeft in de hogere onderwijscycli in artistieke fotografie, reclamegrafieken en illustratie. Sinds 1999 woont hij op Lanzarote.
Door de jaren heen heeft Javier Alonso Labrador deelgenomen aan talrijke individuele en collectieve tentoonstellingen. Tot zijn belangrijkste individuele tentoonstellingen kunnen we "Pincel de Espuma" noemen in het COAC de S/C de Tenerife, geselecteerd voor de III Internationale Biënnale Fotonoviembre in 1995, evenals "Pinceles del Aire" in de Ermita de San Antonio de Tenerife. Tías, Lanzarote in 2003 en "La soledad del páramo", een korte filmvertoning in de Sala de Cine Buñuel in El Almacén, Arrecife van Lanzarote in 2005. Zijn werk is ook gepresenteerd in talrijke groepstentoonstellingen, met name in de Sala de Arte "La Recova", Centro de Fotografía "Isla de Tenerife", CajaCanarias, Paço dos Duques in Guimaraes, Centro Insular de Cultura op Gran Canaria, en nog veel meer.
Zijn artistieke benadering richt zich op een zoektocht naar volume en reliëf in zijn foto's, en hij gebruikt hars om zijn werken te beeldhouwen en te modelleren. Zijn werk is doordrenkt van een poëtische gevoeligheid waarbij hij speelt met licht, kleuren en beweging om het vastgelegde moment te onthullen. Sinds 2015 deelt hij zijn artistieke universum met het publiek via zijn tentoonstellingen en zijn voortdurende experimenten met fotografische technieken.
