Wat is de oorsprong van de Potlood techniek?

Een debat dat de kunstwereld bezielt: het kleurpotlood, gaat het om tekenen of schilderen? Jij mag het beoordelen ! Deze scripttools bestaan uit een kleine houten stok die dient als omhulsel voor een gekleurde lijn van dezelfde lengte. In de collectieve verbeelding worden potloden vaak als kinderachtig materiaal beschouwd, terwijl hun beheersing vanuit artistiek oogpunt een lange leertijd en een solide technische basis vereist om weergaven van buitengewone diepte te verkrijgen, vergelijkbaar met die gemaakt bij olie of acryl. De kunstenaar begint met het schetsen van zijn tekening in potlood en voegt vervolgens een paar kleuren toe door kleine aanrakingen zonder ooit de potloodstreken waar te nemen. Anne Kullberg, Marco Mazzoni, Cecile Baird, Anna Hammer ... zijn allemaal kunstenaars die hun geloofsbrieven hebben gegeven aan het schilderen met potlood.

Hoe Surrealisme stijl definiëren?

Surrealisme is een literaire en artistieke stroming die in 1924 in Frankrijk verscheen, geschreven door André Breton. Het kan worden vertaald als "boven realisme" of "meer dan echt". Het is een dictaat van het denken, waarbij rede en esthetische of morele zorgen moeten worden uitgewist. Voor Breton wordt het surrealisme gerechtvaardigd door een verlangen naar emancipatie: door het onbewuste te bevrijden om het met het bewuste te verzoenen, zal de mensheid zich kunnen bevrijden van de beperkingen opgelegd door logica en rede. De kunstenaars en schrijvers zullen zich daarom laten inspireren door de dada-beweging, evenals de stellingen van Sigmund Freud, en de werken van de symbolisten, in het bijzonder die van Gustave Moreau en Odilon Redon. In de literatuur zal deze benadering zich manifesteren in merkwaardige experimenten, zoals automatisch schrift of het exquise lijk. In de kunst zullen verschillende stromingen opvallen: we spreken van organisch surrealisme (Joan Miro, André Masson, Max Ernst), voor degenen die automatische technieken gebruiken om hun creatieve verbeelding de vrije loop te laten, of dromerig surrealisme (Salvador Dali, René Magritte) voor degenen die gebruik traditionele technieken om surrealistische onderwerpen weer te geven (visioenen, dromen, hallucinante taferelen, impulsen, angsten, fobieën, verlangens...). Surrealisme heeft een gezicht: dat van Dali en zijn snorren, maar het heeft ook emblematische werken in verschillende media, zoals de sculpturen van Alberto Giacometti (Woman with the Cut Throat, Hands holding the Void ...), of de foto's van Man Ray (Zwart en Wit, Violin d'Ingres, The Gift...). De Zwitserse kunstenares Meret Oppenheim componeerde op haar beurt met deze verschillende media (sculpturen, foto's, readymades) om met poëzie de omvang van deze stroming te omschrijven. De terugkerende thema's en symbolen van het surrealisme zijn: onverwachte ontmoetingen, ongerijmde nevenschikkingen, ontmenselijkende maskers (Afrikaans, gas of industrieel), de bidsprinkhaan (belichamende angst voor vrouwen), evenals woordspelingen (vooral tussen de titel van het werk en de compositie ) en andere visuele woordspelingen, zoals het beroemde "Dit is geen pijp" van de Belg René Magritte.
