Notable contemporary Photographs
One of the most iconic contemporary photographs is "Migrant Mother" by Dorothea Lange, taken in 1936 during the Great Depression. The photograph depicts a woman and her children sitting in a tent, their weary and desperate expressions telling the story of poverty and hardship. It has become a symbol of the struggles faced by the working class during that time.
Another well-known photograph is "Afghan Girl" by Steve McCurry, taken in 1984. The photograph features a young girl with piercing green eyes, who became an emblem of the plight of Afghan refugees during the Soviet-Afghan War.
