Neir is a landscape photographer. His works are not portraits of places but scenes that are subjected to abstraction, still recognizable but infused with black white and values beyond the normal. He explores landscape themes, subjecting them to dramatic extremes of light and color combinations that are richly stimulating and at times poetic. Art is not something we have to have, but for many of us we like the feeling of artwork in the home or public spaces. We create a need in the viewer’s mind by making compelling artworks and ideas that go beyond the commercial clichés.

Neir is landschapsfotograaf. Zijn werken zijn geen portretten van plaatsen, maar scènes die onderworpen zijn aan abstractie, nog steeds herkenbaar maar doordrenkt met zwart wit en waarden buiten het normale. Hij verkent landschapsthema's en onderwerpt ze aan dramatische uitersten van licht- en kleurcombinaties die rijk stimulerend en soms poëtisch zijn. Kunst is niet iets dat we moeten hebben, maar voor velen van ons houden we van het gevoel van kunstwerken in huis of in openbare ruimtes. We creëren een behoefte in het hoofd van de kijker door boeiende kunstwerken en ideeën te maken die verder gaan dan de commerciële clichés. De losse slag vermenigvuldigt zich in een dynamisch en continu ritme dat de grenzen van de ondersteuning overschrijdt. Het gevoel van mijmering en de opeenvolging van reële elementen transformeren de composities in optische illusies die met elkaar verbonden zijn door de veelheid aan lezingen.
