I was born in Smolensk. Since early childhood, I have been drawing everything I saw and felt, but I never perceived it as a possible vocation — perhaps only considering design as one of life’s paths. Painting seemed something distant, almost unattainable.
In my youth, I tried myself as an art photographer and participated in regional exhibitions, while painting remained an inner experience for me — a way to give expression to emotions. One day, one of my abstract works caught the eye of an expert during the selection of photographs for an exhibition. He noticed it, appreciated it highly, and soon it was included in an international exhibition. For me, this came as a complete surprise — even slightly unsettling. After all, at that time I had no professional training; I simply painted to express what was inside me.
That’s when I decided to study art. First with one master, then with another. We drew still lifes, antique heads, jugs, vases, and sometimes strange compositions. Twenty years passed as I walked this path, learning the laws of form, light, and shadow. But over time, I realized that abstraction had always remained my true nature. Only now it had become deeper, stronger, more conscious.
As for the jugs and vases — they never became part of my free artistic narrative.
Today, my works are a combination of inner freedom and lived experience, expressed through the language of art. They are a manifestation of energy, movement, and emotion through color, form, and space. They reflect on the role of a woman, her journey, the barriers she faces, unusual emotional states, her joys, and realizations.
