I made this painting in February, at the end of the winter. As a Colombian that grew up without winter, the grey humid and cold Dutch winters are tiring and by February I am longing for the warmer times and blue skies… That melancholy really came out in this painting!

Monica Le Crom is a French and Colombian artist, born in Honduras and based in Amsterdam. She started painting as a child and is a self taught multidisciplinary artist, using a diverse range of traditional and mixed mediums, including acrylic paint, pastel, watercolor and illustration.
She considers herself a world citizen and in her walks and travels, she embraces fully the present moment, discovering the wonders that surround her. Each stroke of her brush, guided by this deep connection to the here and now, fills her creative process with a profound sense of silence and inner peace.
