The panel paintings from this collection convey my mood during its development. I wanted to combine opposites, combine shapes and textures. The matte white embossed surface and vibrant gold feathers are seemingly opposites. But I feel that it is harmony.

Marina Lebedeva is an amateur artist. She lives in the most beautiful city of Russia, St. Petersburg. Marina discovered her passion for painting in 2018, when she started studying the history of contemporary art. Stories about artists who, in the 20th century, created new directions, discovered new techniques and expanded artistic horizons, inspired to make her first attempts at painting. Since then, she has been constantly studying classical and modern drawing and painting techniques, taking private lessons in person and through webinars from professional artists from all over the world.
Creating paintings, Marina experiments with artistic materials, so many of her works are created in mixed media. Now her heart is given to acrylic. This medium allows to quickly bring an idea to life, its drying speed contributes to quick and expressive decisions, bold brush strokes. Marina also love modeling paste, which gives the paintings texture and volumetric surface. Dry pastels add the finishing touches, while golden leaves accentuate the graceful lines. The use of multiple mediums allows to add volume and depth to paintings.
In the last two years the artist has been painting large abstract paintings, most often landscapes and floral ornaments. Marina likes light colors, paintings in which there is a lot of tenderness and "air". Many people, who well know her, say that Marina’s painting is similar to her character - soft and calm. She finds inspiration in nature, so most of her paintings are done in natural colors.
Marina’s paintings are presented in private collections in Russia, Germany and Australia.
