This still life is about beauty that manifests in the most unexpected forms. The two glasses, filled with grapes, frame a simple story about how even the smallest details hold power and magic. A viewer of the painting might inevitably start to imagine how these two ladies, perhaps, walk through life, illuminating it with their presence, like light refracting through these crystal glasses.

Biography of Marika Guseva Early Years and Education
Marika Guseva (creative pseudonym) was born in the small town of Belogorsk. She spent her childhood and youth in the village of Vyritsa, where she first developed an interest in art. At the age of 14, she enrolled in an art school.
Her desire to develop in the field of art led her to the Art Restoration Lyceum, where she studied the profession of a restorer of decorative plasterwork and artistic stucco.
Formation of Artistic Vision
As a child, Marika loved spending time at the rural club, where artist-decorator Vladimir Sviridov worked. It was during this time that she developed the desire to become an artist.
Marika became passionate about painting in 2015, learning techniques through master classes. Since 2017, she has participated annually in the "Vyritsa with an Easel" exhibition, presenting her works to a wide audience. In 2022, she joined the Professional Union of Artists of Russia.
Creativity and Style
Almost all of Marika Guseva’s works are dedicated to Vyritsa, the place where her artistic journey began. Her paintings predominantly explore themes of old houses, wooden Art Nouveau architecture, and animals. Depending on the fate of the depicted building, different creatures appear alongside it: if the house has been lost, it is accompanied by a mythical being; if the building still exists, a forest animal is depicted nearby.
Her work attracts the attention of viewers, art enthusiasts, and collectors. The artist’s paintings resonate with audiences due to her unique perspective on architectural heritage and its connection to nature and mythology.
