Mariia Kurbatova

I like to paint the beautiful coastal landscapes of Montenegro. Living here, I feel connected to the sea and all its colors. I show boats floating in vast maritime scenes using gouache, a medium that lets me express bright hues and smooth textures.

In my work, I like to explore how water and sky play together, creating light and shadow. Each painting reflects what I see and feel around me. I show the mountains standing tall behind calm bays and the gentle waves that cradle the boats, symbols of freedom and adventure.

Montenegro is more than just where I live; it inspires me every day.
